This policy explains how Minbar Caption, created by Rayane Staszewski, handles information when you use the desktop application and minbarcaption.com.

Projects and local files

Your projects, source recordings, subtitle edits, and exports are stored on your computer. You control these files and are responsible for their backups. Choosing a cloud feature or publishing a community preset sends the content needed for that feature outside your device.

Cloud transcription and text AI

Transcription through Groq or ElevenLabs sends audio to the provider you select. Translation, correction, subtitle rearrangement, and reference detection may send transcript text and related context to your configured text AI provider. These tools use your own API keys. The provider's pricing, retention, and privacy policies apply to those requests.

Community presets and Quran content

When you publish a style preset, its style data, preview, and associated metadata are shared through the community library. Quran reference features may request passage or translation data from connected Quran content services. Use community features only with material you are entitled to share.

Application analytics and diagnostics

The desktop app uses PostHog for usage events and diagnostics, including application name and version, feature use, and errors. AI workflow events record status and timing rather than transcript content. Project or file metadata may accompany other application events. This website does not load a PostHog analytics script.

Website services

The website retrieves public release metadata from GitHub to display updates and provide installer links. Its hosting provider may process ordinary request logs, such as IP addresses and browser information. Fonts are served by Google Fonts. Embedded videos, thumbnails and creator avatars may contact YouTube and Unavatar. When enabled, the donation banner requests progress from its configured service and stores its dismissal time locally for 24 hours. Following an external download, community, support, or source-code link is subject to that service's privacy policy.

Contact and newsletter

The contact form sends your email address, subject and message through Telegram when configured. Newsletter subscriptions send your email address to Brevo's dedicated Minbar Caption list. You can unsubscribe using the link in newsletter emails. If you contact us by email, we use your address and message to respond. For privacy questions, data-access requests, or deletion requests, contact zonedetec@gmail.com.

Security, retention, and your choices

Keep your API keys private and revoke them through the provider if needed. You can delete local projects and avoid cloud tools by editing manually. We retain support correspondence as needed to respond and meet legal obligations. No system can guarantee absolute security; third-party services apply their own retention rules.
